Colts QB Andrew Luck is in the NFL’s concussion protocol, with the Indianapolis Star reporting that it’s “highly unlikely” he’ll play Thursday night against the Steelers. Scott Tolzien would fill in for Luck.

Assuming that Luck owners don’t want to start Tolzien – and they don’t – the best, widely available option is Colin Kaepernick, who is owned in 13.2 percent of FOXSports.com leagues. Kaepernick has averaged 24.6 fantasy points in his five starts, and will visit Miami.

Other potential choices are Joe Flacco (25.2 percent owned) against the Bengals, Ryan Tannehill (24.7 percent owned) vs. the 49ers, and Brock Osweiler (9.3 percent owned) against the Chargers.

In other news ...

A.J. Green’s hamstring injury seems to be a week-to-week situation rather than a season-ender. He’s out this week, though. And in case you missed it, teammate Gio Bernard (knee) is done for the year.

Indianapolis Colts Trikot,With C.J. Prosise (shoulder) probably done for the season, Alex Collins is now Thomas Rawls’ primary backup. Rawls got more work than the Seahawks wanted after Prosise’s injury, so Collins could get meaningful reps as soon as this Sunday. Six to eight carries, maybe?

Bills RB LeSean McCoy had minor surgery on his dislocated thumb, and is expected to play this week. In other Bills’ news, the Buffalo News reports that WR Robert Woods probably won’t play Sunday due to a sprained knee, and Rex Ryan is "hoping" that WR Sammy Watkins (foot) can return to play on a limited basis. However, if you read Ryan’s quotes, Watkins’ chances to play don’t sound good.

We didn’t learn much from Monday’s Texans-Raiders game, but Derek Carr got bailed out of a subpar fantasy night with a couple of catch-and-run TDs in the fourth quarter. Braxton Miller outsnapped Will Fuller by a 65-40 margin, but that could have something to do with the leg injury that caused Fuller to miss some time recently.

According to Philly.com, Ryan Mathews has a “day-to-day” MCL sprain, and Darren Sproles has a "non-displaced rib fracture that shouldn’t keep him from playing against the Packers." You might want to pump the brakes just a bit on all those Wendell Smallwood claims you were planning. Smallwood looks like less of a sure thing than he was on Monday morning.

The Jaguars didn’t offer an update on T.J. Yeldon’s injured ankle. We know you’ve been on the edge of your seats waiting for news, and we’ll stay on top of all things Yeldon this week.

Look for Tevin Coleman (hamstring) to return to the Falcons’ backfield following a four-week absence.

No update from the Saints on Mark Ingram’s concussion status. Stay tuned.

Jay Cutler’s season might be over due to a shoulder injury; the Bears would start Matt Barkley in Cutler’s place against the Titans. In related news, the Titans’ defense is owned in just 10.2 percent of FOXSports.com leagues.

Chiefs head coach Andy Reid didn’t offer any hints as to whether WR Jeremy Maclin (groin) will return Sunday night. Since the Chiefs are facing the Broncos, it would be best to keep Maclin benched even if he’s healthy.

Chargers WR Travis Benjamin (knee) appears on target to return in Week 12.

Colts CB Vontae Davis didn’t practice Monday due to an ankle injury, and was seen in a walking boot. Antonio Brown must be drooling.

With Cody Kessler concussed, Josh McCown will start at QB for the Browns against the Giants.

The Packers plan to activate RB Christine Michael at Philly on Monday, and will "definitely look to have him part of the flow," according to head coach Mike McCarthy. Take note, James Starks owners.

Ryan Fitzpatrick will be back under center when the 3-7 Jets host the Patriots. Related: The Jets picked a quarterback in each of the last two drafts.

Your Thursday games are Vikings-Lions, Redskins-Cowboys and Steelers-Colts. Remember to set lineups.

The Vikings have waived RB Ronnie Hillman, and reports have surfaced that Adrian Peterson is targeting a December return. Peterson can be stashed - like a lot of players - but don’t move important pieces as part of a plan for him to help you win a fantasy title, as we have no idea how effective he’ll be, or when. Tweet me (@jhalpin37) with any Peterson-related questions.

Good luck with your free-agent pickups!
